While a law school freshman in Washington, DC, Waverly spent his nights playing in a reggae band.  It didn’t take long for him to realize that the rigors of law school would not allow him to play until 2:00 am and attend law school full-time.  It was then that Waverly decided to lay down his saxophone and congas and prioritize his law classes. But his love of music remained.  He began to advise and negotiate contracts for local bands in the DC area.

     Now, more than 30 years later, Attorney Waverly Jones, Jr. brings his love of entertainment law to the position of Chief Operations Officer and In-House Legal Counsel for Various Artists Music Group, LLC which does business as VA Music Group.  Unlike the traditional record label which tends to take advantage of its artists, Waverly approaches the operation of VA Music Group and each agreement entered into from a musician’s perspective first.  It is his goal to draft and negotiate agreements that are mutually beneficial to both the artist and the record label.

     Waverly and G Flowers agree that VA Music Group will always be a company that nurtures the creative talents of its artists and helps develop the music industry careers of all who are associated with VA Music Group.
